It seems like nowadys there are not only young kids on Facebook, but old adults. I'm sure that the majority of Facebook users my age would agree with me when I say that this is ricidulous. There should be an age limit to use Facebook. Having kids that are in elementary school on Facebook takes away from it. This was written by a current TV anchor that calls herself News Anchor Mom. The article describes how kids that are younger than the age of 10 have Facebook accounts. She is against this, and explains that kids should not have a Facebook until they reach high school, and I couldn't agree more. I found it interesting that kids that young even want a Facebook account, I mean what would they even do on Facebook? What's controversial is the fact that other parents allow their children to have Facebooks at this very young age. Why do children want Facebooks at this age? They can't do anything with them.

I agree. There should be an age limits, both for the too young & too old on having a Facebook account.
ReplyDeleteI’m not really sure that I agree. I can understand the risk of strangers contacting kids, but as long as parents are monitoring their children’s accounts I don’t see this as very big problem. Why is Facebook worse than watching TV, playing videogames, or surfing on other internet pages? All of these media can be dangerous to kids without rules and restrictions from parents. It feels like this debate occurs about every new technology the world faces. Facebook have a recommended minimum age of 13 years old and I don’t see any reason for them to do anything more about it.
ReplyDeleteI think that the recommended minimum age of 13 years old is right enough. It would seem weird if someone younger was on Facebook. There should only be a minimum age requirement, an old minimum requirement, I don't see needed.
ReplyDeletean old age requirement*
